“When Mlle. Parepa left the building [Irving Hall, after her last concert] she was vociferously cheered by her admirers, and on returing to her hotel, (the Clarendon,) was complimented with a serenade by Dodsworth’s [sic] Band. The lady appeared at the window and very pleasantly thanked her friends for their kindness, after which the world once more moved on its axis and the city cars resumed their regular trip.”

Review: New-York Daily Tribune, 02 October 1865.

“After the concert, at about 11 o’clock, Dodworth’s band assembled before the Clarendon Hotel, and there, in presence of a large crowd, played for an hour some of their best serenade music, to make a graceful adieu to Mdlle. Parepa, who received her friends and numerous admirers in a parlor fronting the band. Several recognitions were made by those present of her high estimation here, and Mr. Harrison of Irving Hall briefly acknowledged the compliment in her name.”
