“The Military Drama—‘Corporal Cartouche’ is not likely to run as long as its predecessor at the Winter Garden, judging from the present attendance, which is not large. . . . Although ‘Corporal Cartouche’ is not a great success, it possesses full as much merit as two-thirds of the dramatisations and originals plays produced in this city. The gentleman’s next effort will, no doubt, show a decided improvement.”
