“It is a fearful thing to be placed in the company of ghosts even when friends are by to encourage and protect you; but how much more frightful it must be to be tied up with a bag full of ghosts, shut out from the world, and left entirely at the mercy of a ghostly foe. Gen. Grant had great difficulties to encounter before he succeeded in bagging Lee’s army, and Mr. Heller has also encountered many vexations in bagging his ghosts, but he has done it at last, and nightly exhibits his ghostly triumphs at his Salle Diabolique, in the presence of an awe-stricken assemblage. We don’t know how he does this new feat; nor, in fact, how he does any of his wonderful tricks. If we didn’t know brother Heller to be a man of a pious turn of mind, we should say that he is ‘in’ with the devil, for the accomplishes such marvels at his pretty little hall that gentlemen of ‘the most fastidious taste’ say they could not be done without spiritual assistance. Ladies, let us encourage upon you to visit Heller’s, and see the unhappy man tied up with a bag full of ghosts.”
