Announcement: New York Clipper, 22 April 1865, 14.

“Oil still runs at Wood’s Minstrels, the ‘Petroleumania’ burlesque being announced for repetition until it ceases to work in the people. It has been running well for several weeks already. In addition to the oily sketch, some beautiful singing may be heard, and a number of good acts witnessed. Let us all do a good act by attending the entertainments this week, for such light amusements cannot ‘be in conflict with any one’s feelings or principles,’ as the Lord Mayor would say.”
