Announcement: New-York Daily Tribune, 24 March 1866, 6.

“The second of Mr. Thomson’s popular concerts will take place this evening at Dodworth’s Hall: Miss Lizzie Allen, Mr. Laserve [sic]  and others will assist, and Baker’s cantata ‘The Storm King’  will be repeated, be [sic] general request.  These pleasant concerts are given at a popular price, namely, 50 cents, and they deserve to be well patronized.”

Review: New York Herald, 25 March 1866, 4.

“The first matinee of Mr. J. S. Thomson’s series of popular entertainment, and his second concert, took place yesterday. . . . In the evening the great feature was Baker’s Storm King. There are some good points in it, but a great many puerile thoughts. These concerts, however, contain sufficiently interesting matter to make them popular.”
