Review: New York Herald, 25 March 1866.

“The spacious armory of this popular military organization was crowded last night by a large and fashionable audience, while the fine band of the regiment performed a choice selection of marches, opera potpourris and transcriptions from several eminent composers.  After the concert, dancing was introduced and kept up to a late hour.  The gymnasium was extensively patronized during the evening, and the lady friends of the gallant members looked on in admiration, and in some cases fear, at the acrobatic feats of their swans.  The music was a marked improvement on the previous concerts of the season.”
