“The Old Bowery brought its dramatic season to a finale on the 8th inst.  Up to the assassination of President Lincoln, the Old Bowery rejoiced in a succession of crowded houses, and a succession of well-pleased audiences.  Manager Fox not only labored hard in preparing his pieces in the best possible manner for presentation, but he also worked zealously as an actor; he made a great deal of money during the season, especially up to the time stated; the sad event on the 14th of April put a damper on all amusements, and the Old Bowery was not an exception; but still, ever since that time, the business has been remunerative.  Great preparations will at once be made for the next season, and a variety of novelties will be produced in quick succession.”
