Announcement: New York Clipper, 29 July 1865, 126.

“Christy’s Minstrels continued to perform to very good houses last week at the Old Bowery.  This week there is an entire change in the programme, and the company will appear in several new acts.  In addition to the regular company, Master Bobby, just arrived from Europe, will put in an appearance.”

Review: New York Clipper, 05 August 1865, 134.

“Christy’s Minstrels are still doing well at the Old Bowery.  Previous to the inside show, every evening a brass band performs a number of pleasing compositions in front, without money and without any charge.  ‘Japanese Tommy,’ a veritable colored dwarf, creates quite a sensation when he appears on the street.  Tommy is certainly a greater natural curiosity than his ‘friend and brother,’ Thomas Thumb.  Jap’s performances with the troupe are very amusing.”
