“Tony Pastor’s Show opened at the hall in the Bowery, opposite Spring street, on the 31st July, to an immense house, and the performances were received with the greatest enthusiasm. Tony Pastor, Johnny Wild, and in fact all the company met with a hearty welcome. Notwithstanding the heat, the attendance during the week was quite large, and the Tony Pastor Show may be set down as a success. It is about the best of the kind we have had on the east side of late.”
