     “William Birch – better known as Billy – is to appear, this week at the San Francisco Minstrel Hall, as Shaun the Post, in ‘Arrah na Pogue,’ new version, with about five lines not written by House; Charley Backus is to do the Arrah Meelish business.  Billy ought to make an agile climber, but whether he will go up or down, the papers don’t say.  We guess there’ll be lots of fun in ‘Arrah na pogue.’  We don’t know how Tim Hayes stands it, this hot weather in dancing his clog dances but he rattles them off with great fluency to the manifest delight of many warm friends…Biz big at his house.”
