“The choir of the Church of the Holy Cross, in Forty-second street, sang Lambillotte’s Paschal mass with full orchestra, under the leadership of Mr. Appy. The offertorium, Hummel’s celebrated Alma Virgo, was sung by Miss Wernecke, of the Mendelssohn Union, assisted by a full chorus. An Ave Maria, tenor solo with violin obligato, was splendidly given by Mr. Duclos of the same society.”
