“The management takes pleasure in announcing the reopening (for the season) of this favorite resort on WEDNESDAY, JUNE 20.

“Every day and evening, from sunrise to midnight in favorable weather, cable ascensions will be made with the ARMY BALLOONS, by which means parties will have an opportunity of viewing CENTRAL PARK, NEW YORK CITY and surrounding country from any altitude they may desire.  During each day and evening a large number of PILOT BALLOONS will be sent up for the amusement of children.  HARRY LESLIE, THE HERO OF NIAGARA FALLS, will appear each day between the hours of 4 and 5 P.M., upon the cable used in his transit over the above famous cataract.

“On Wednesdays and Saturdays he will ascend with and perform under the balloon at a great altitude.

“At 8 o’clock P.M., a grand DISPLAY OF FIREWORKS will commence, during which, on the little lake, the memorable NAVAL FIGHT! Between the Monitor and the Merrimac, with the sinking of the Cumberland, will be represented.

“A full Brass, Reed and String Band will give a grand PROMENADE CONCERT, every afternoon, commencing at 2 o’clock (see programme).

“In consequence of the introduction of steam for the operation of the Balloons, and of their increased carrying capacity, owing to the employment of pure hydrogen gas, which is generated at the rate of 10,000 cubic feet per hour, in the presence of the spectator, we are enabled to reduce THE PRICES OF ASCENSION from $5 last year.”
