“Charley White’s experiment with a variety troupe at 472 Broadway is going to be a success, his business, so far, despite the intense heat, being far better than he had anticipated.”
“Charley White has succeeded beyond his most sanguine expectations, at his popular Music Hall on Broadway, late Bryants’ Minstrel Hall. All last week business was first rate; on the evening of the 14th, notwithstanding the weather was very warm, the house was crowded in every part. Charley has got a first class party, and gives an excellent show. The stage is very cleverly managed by George R. Edeson, and everything goes off regularly, and with the same promptness as marked the shows given by the Bryants. The hall has become popular by giving quick shows, and closing at a reasonable hour, and this is the way Mr. White is conducting it.”
“‘472’—under the management of Charley White—is fast taking the position formerly occupied by ‘444.’”
