“Constant change characterizes the programme offered this week at Wallack’s Theatre. None of the pieces are new, but all of them are agreeable. . . . [‘More Blunders Than One’] was done here last evening for the first time. It is a jovial farce, and it affords Mr. Bryant a part that fits him with singular accuracy—that of Harry Hoolagan. There is, however, no temptation to descant at length on these Irish plays nor to analyze the Irish characters. The topic has been thoroughly reviewed, in all its parts. Mr. Bryant’s acting, too, offers no new feature for comment. He plays with his accustomed humor and quaintness and exuberant mirth. The Irish reel, by the way, which he dances—as Paudeen O’Rafferty—with Miss Mary Scott, was particularly relished and applauded last evening. The actress appears to be gifted with unusual vivacity of temperament.”
