“The ‘Summer Night’s Feast’ given yearly by the Teutonia Mannerchor Association came off last night at Falk’s Belvedere Lion Park and was a decided success. About twenty-five hundred persons were present and the evening passed off with considerable éclat. A ‘Song to the Wine’ by ladies and gentlemen was well rendered as was also the song ‘Upon the Mountains’ by the Teutonia Mannerchor. Several balloons wwere sent off, each representing some particular German spectacle. The tableaux were also excellent.  [Description of the tableaux.] The music by the band was very fine, and was principally confined to dances. The large audience appeared to enjoy themselves with much zest, and, in the delights of their terpsichorean recreation, the hours passed away until the wee hours of morning appeared. The committee of the association acted very creditably, and, by their courtesy, enabled the guests to enjoy the evening. The ‘Park’ was, as it always is, in splendid condition, and was well fitted up for the occasion.

The Teutonia Maennerchor is a German association of sixteen years’ standing.  Every year it gives a ‘Summer Night’s Feast,’ and an ‘Anniversary Feast’ every January. . . .”
