Heinrich Luhde, a well-known cellist and clarinetist in larger American cities, has ended his life by drowning a few days ago. He had come to the United States with the well-known Germania orchestra 15 years ago and soon became a member of the finest orchestras here. He was also much liked by his colleagues for his gentle and good-hearted nature. About two years ago he fell ill with a condition that made it impossible for him to read music in the gas light.
