“The pupils of the School of the Reformed Protestant Dutch Church celebrated the 253d anniversary of that institution last evening at the Church corner of Fifth avenue and Twenty-ninth street.  The exercises consisted of declamations, recitations, original compositions and singing by the scholars.  The presentation of diplomas to the graduating class was an interesting feature in the programme. . . . [Adolph C. Wenzel] delivered the Valedictory, after which the chorus, ‘God is There,’ was sung, and the audience was dismissed with the Benediction.”
