"The song societies ‘Fidelia’ and ‘Rheinische Sängerbund’ have pledged their pleasing participation. Dodworth’s Band is especially dedicated to the evening, and a sophisticated program for the concert will satisfy all the participants and make for a happy evening. After completion of the concert is a merry dance in the garden."

Review: New-Yorker Staats-Zeitung und Herold, 04 August 1863, 8.

“The Summer Night’s Festival of the German Waiter Association, which took place last Saturday evening in the Bowery Garden, was so well attended that the location became too small to accommodate all the guests. The arrangements for the party were so well undertaken in all respects, that nothing was left to be desired. The singing clubs Fidelia and the Rhenischer Sängerbund alternately presented pieces of music during the concert, and after the concert the society was amused with dancing in the garden.

Herr Schlatter, president of the society, delivered a suitable speech, which was received with great applause. All the participants will remember this evening, and we hope that all other waiters will join the club in a short time.”
