“The friends of English opera will be pleased to learn that, commencing in February next, Mr. L.F. Harrison, of the Irving Hall, will open at Winter Garden theatre with English opera, and will play three months, alternating between Brooklyn and New York. The musical conductor will be Mr. Theodore Thomas. The orchestra will be composed of thirty-two performers and a chorus of forty singers. The operas to be given are the “Puritan’s Daughter,” “Ruy Blas,” “Robin Hood” and “Lurline.”
