“Carl Wolfsohn’s fourth Beethoven recital took place at the Steinway matinée (the small hall) yesterday afternoon. He played the E major, E minor and G major sonatas, and Mr. Pollack sang three songs by Liszt, Schubert and Schumann. The beautiful G major sonata, opus thirty-one, was splendidly played by Mr. Wolfsohn. This artist improves at each recital, and judging from yesterday’s performance he deserves to be called the Halle of America.”

Musical analysis and interpretation of the above pieces. The adagio E major (not fully legible, could also be G major) is a rather graceful piece which Wolfsohn did complete justice to. Pollack sang several songs and was very successful with it.
