“The programme at this favorite east side place of amusement is this week quite of a holiday character, calling into play the talents of the whole company. Tony Pastor himself was last evening out in a collection of new songs, which were received in the usually hearty manner. Mr. Dave Hawley, a gymnast of considerable ability, performed some very wonderful feats, both on the horizontal bar and the flying trapeze. Mr. Barry O’Neil gave some of the gems of ‘Ould Ireland’ in his usual good style. This gentleman is certainly one of the best delineators of Irish character now upon the American stage, and has become an especial favorite with the frequenters of the Opera House.”
