“The wonderful Hartz continues nightly to conduct the audiences that gather within this charming little place of amusement to witness his entertainment into the bewildering realms of mystery and magic. The powers of Mr. Hartz as an illusionist border on the miraculous, and his tricks are as varied as they are startling and novel. The lively fire of bon mots which he constantly directs upon his audience contributes considerably to the attractiveness of his performances. The programme closes with the Floating Head, a mystery which the more it is regarded grows deeper and less capable of solution. The audience last evening was good, but no doubt would have been larger had the night been a little less ‘foul’ and the pavements a little less slippery.”
