“The ‘Crook’ will probably experience a falling off this week, but we are given to understand that the receipts may be reduced to one thousand dollars per night, and yet the manager will make money. Until recently, the nightly receipts have been upwards of two thousand dollars, with an expense of not more than eight hundred dollars per night. This is sugar for somebody.”
