The Arion Chorus was forced to reschedule their carnival entertainments from Saturday to Thursday. The police captain Caffrey alias Kaffer [‘jailer’] had to enforce the law to close any entertainment at midnight on Saturdays. (…) Since women are included, the society has gained a new energy (…) The chorus will definitely have its masked ball on March 27th at the Academy of Music. We are not sure why there will be no concert this time. The chorus has efficient singers and an energetic conductor in Carl Anschütz.
