“The management of this ‘temple of Momus’ continue to present to their patrons a new and highly diversified selection of Ethiopian burlesques and comic interludes. The excellent corps de ballet also seem fully aware of the saying that ‘variety is the spice of life,’ and nightly vary their pleasing divertissements, exhibiting much good taste in the arrangements and costumes. A full house greeted the performances at this establishment last evening, and testified by the genuineness of their applause is the undoubted popularity of this mirth-provoking place of resort. The Fenian’s Oath, a new local drama with an abundance of ‘sensation’ and ‘effects’ is now being produced at this place.”
