“The last benefit in aid of the Masonic Hall and Asylum fund was given yesterday afternoon at this theatre. The beautiful and deeply interesting comedy, by Tom Taylor, entitled Still Waters Run Deep, was produced with an excellent cast of characters, the moral precepts which the play enforces and its many touches of humor being very acceptably rendered by the entire company. Messrs Baker, Jordan and Smith and Miss Fanny Morant and Miss Saidee Cole deserve special commendation for their natural and artistic acting in this fine comedy. The musical farce of Mr. and Mrs. White concluded the entertainment.”
