“New-York Circus.—At this popular establishment in Fourteenth-street, Mr. Lent manages to introduce a great deal of variety in the performances, and during the past week or two quite a number of novel and attractive features have been brought forward. The equestrian fairy pantomime of the ‘Sprite of the Silver Shower,’ new gymnastic and acrobatic performances of unusual merit, the divertissement of ‘Blindman’s Buff on Horseback,’ trained dogs, ponies and mules of wonderful sagacity, and the admirable equestrianism of Mlle. De Berg, form the leading attractions to be found in the programme this week. In addition to the regular matinees on Wednesday and Saturday, an extra one will be given on Friday, Washington’s Birthday.”

“…We must, however, especially compliment Mr. Austin for his songs and antics, and Mr. Cooke and Mr. Madigan for their surprising battante leaps…”
