Review: New-Yorker Musik-Zeitung, 26 January 1867, 393.

“The Teutonia Men’s Chorus celebrated its 15th anniversary at the Germania Rooms [no date/time given]. The opening consisted of 3 choral presentations conducted by Mr. Seifert.

The president Steffen [possibly Stessen] stated the union has now 330 members, 57 active and 230 passive. 38 new members joined last year and not a single member cancelled membership. The finances are in orderly and growing condition: revenue $2563.77, expenses $2129.88, which means a surplus of $433.89. The entire union’s property and possessions are estimated at $2433.89. There are no debts. After several other speeches the event concluded with a ball.”
