Article on progress of Academy of Music rebuild and Maretzek’s upcoming season

“It is now definitely understood that Mr. Maretzek’s regular season of opera will not commence at the Academy of Music until the second week of March. The building will be occupied for ball purposes two or three weeks sooner. It is progressing rapidly toward completion, and begins to show the lines of the boxes, galleries, &c. The general effect may not be as imposing as the old Academy, but it is far more comfortable and cosy.”
