The men’s chorus Arion serenaded the dramatic actress Fanny Janauschek in front of her apartment on 12th street on Tuesday (10/08/67) with the “Barcorola” from Abert’s Astorga, Ritter’s “Abschied” sung by Johann Kinkel, and “Die Einkehr” sung by Karl Zöllner. Karl Bergmann conducted the precise and confident performance. After the recital the actress cordially invited the performers into her home. Both the vice president of the chorus, J. O. Hundt, and also Miss Fanny Janauscheck gave speeches (which are printed in the article). The actress was honored for making the long and strenuous trip from Europe, and for her support and promotion of the German art in the new world.
