(…) Offenbach’s music supports the plot with new, charming themes, alternating joyful and serious moods. It captivates every ear to listen until the orchestra plays its very last note [for each song]. The acting was satisfactory, the costumes even elaborate. We noticed that the Stadttheater has been giving more attention to the scenery. Mrs. L’Arronge-Sury excelled with singing and acting as “Valentine”. Her highlight was the performance of the deeply moving song “Was ich so tief und heimlich trage im Herzensgrund”. Miss Schmitz as “Paul Friquet” and the ladies Scheurmann, Busch, Weiss, and Cramer as the other “scribes” performed with confidence and appropriate acting.

Mrs. L’Arronge sings with lightness and elegance and has enchanted the audience again.

Mrs. L’Arronge gave a fine performance as “Valentine” in La Chanson de Fortunio. She is an excellent coloratura singer, has a good education, and also offers an authentic acting style.
