“Musical. The English version of Donizetti’s pleasing opera La Figlia del Regimento, was performed last night by the Richings troupe. Although the house was not as well filled as on the previous evening, yet there was a very fair and select audience present. The opera was presented in a manner which denoted that the talented directress was earnest in her endeavors to please, and that she relied on the public taste and on the talent of the company alone for a success. Miss Richings sustained the part of Marie with spirit and vivacity, and the admirable acting of Mr. Seguin as the old sergeant was well deserving of the applause it received. The other characters in the piece were fairly represented.”

“The Richings Opera Troupe commenced its second engagement in this city at the Olympic Theatre on the 18th inst…With the exception of Friday . . . attendance [during the week] was very good, but not what it should have been.”
