"Budsworth's Minstrels promise a new piece to-night at the Fifth Avenue Opera House. The province of these performers is to amuse, and they fulfill their province to the letter. Few spectacles are so exhilarating as that of a large and most respectable audience--such as is nightly assembled at the Fifth Avenue Opera House--overwhelmed with merriment, at exhibitions of Ethiopian Minstrelsy, which are full of fun, and, at the same time, are guided and restrained by good taste."

“The company of the charming little opera house, adjoining the Fifth Avenue Hotel, in addition to their musical olio produced last night the startling new shadowy pantomime entitled A Trip to the Moon. The piece is unquestionably the best thing of the kind that has been produced upon the minstrel boards of this city for a number of years past, and keeps the audience in continual laughter from its commencement to its termination. It was a grand success and will, undoubtedly, be kept upon the bills for some weeks to come.”
