“Messrs. Griffin and Christy have reduced the prices of admission to their minstrel hall, to 50 and 30 cents.  The change seems to have proved a good one, for their hall, notwithstanding the bad weather, was well attended the past week.  Mr. Percival has become quite a favorite with the audience, and deservedly so, for he possesses a sweet tenor voice.  George Christy, on the end, is as happy as any ‘moke’ could be, for he nightly convulses his brethren and sisters with lafter [sic].”
