Brief: “The wonderful Arab gymnasts have been engaged for a few nights only by the manager of the Olympic. We have already given the highest commendations of the daring, strength and agility displayed in these performances.”
”The Arabs began a short engagement at the Olympic last night, and, as usual, astonished all who witnessed their performances for the first time. As among the most remarkable gymnasts we have ever had here they are richly worth seeing at least once.”
“The Arab Troupe of Gymnasts and Acrobats commenced a two weeks’ engagement at the Olympic Theatre on the 8th inst., and succeeded in playing to most excellent houses during the week. Their performances are exceedingly well done, and as gymnasts and acrobats, they are superior to any seen in this city for some time. The pyramid act was very well done, and elicited considerable applause. Their performances were preceded every evening by a farce, in which E. Lamb, Mrs. And Miss Eldridge and Alice Harrison appeared with success. Manager Grover has had a large fountain placed in the aisle of the orchestra, and the water makes those in the immediate vicinity quite cool of a warm evening.”
