“The marriage, the residence and the household arrangements of this couple will be wonderful to behold. Commodore Nutt, who might have [illeg. – married?] Miss Warren had he been a few years older and a little taller, is in a fearfully jealous state of mind, seriously contemplates suicide and is prepared to do anything desperate at short notice.”

“The wedding of Gen. Tom Thumb to his Lilliputian betrothed, Miss Lavinia Warren, was arranged to take place at Trinity Chapel, on the 10th of February next; but an unexpected difficulty has arisen. The rector of Trinity chapel—Rev. Morgan Dix – it appears has forbidden the use of the church for two reasons.—First, because of the restrictions of the cards of admission; and, secondly, because of the order that all the invited should appear in full dress on the occasion. Dr. Dix considers these two arrangements contrary to the rules of the church, and, therefore, has refused the use of Trinity or any other chapel on such conditions. Some other church will, therefore, have to be selected.”

Long article on the wedding. “Previous to the entrance of the bridal party, Mr. Morgan relieved the weary waiters by performing, as few beside him can . . . upon the organ. . . . After a moment’s tarrying, while Morgan’s organ rolled out the delicious reminiscences of Mendelssohn’s ‘Wedding March,’ they marched down the aisle arm in arm, and man and wife.”
