“The Matinee on Saturday was well attended. We have spoken of the opera (‘Norma’) before, and need only say that Mme. Parepa-Rosa once more distinguished herself in the rôle of the Druidess. There will be no performance at this house tonight. Owing to the Purim Ball—a grand affair, which will be unusually splendid this year—it will be impossible to resume operatic operations until Wednesday. The company in consequence plays in Brooklyn tonight.”
