". . . Last evening a grand ball was given at the Fest Hall, and this closed the festivities. The music by the orchestra, led by Carl Anschutz, was splendid, the attendance large, and the dancing was kept up til a late hour."

Carl Anschütz gave a concert with the support of the choruses Frauenlob and NY Singakademie at Jones Wood recently. Unfortunately it was not well attended. The orchestral pieces, individual chorus pieces, and the grand chorus piece sung by both choruses together were performed satisfactorily in all aspects. It is regrettable that these concerts are not given the proper acknowledgement by the people.
