“The Terrace Garden, on Third Ave., between Fifty eighth and Fifty-ninth st., which during last season was a popular resort for the lovers of music, was opened on Monday evening with a grand concert, under the direction of Mr. Carl Bergmann. The orchestra over which he presides is one of the best in the country. The selection of pieces on Monday was very fine, and brilliantly performed. The grounds have been very much improved, and now present a picturesque appearance. The gardens are extensively patronized by our German citizens, who have a high appreciation for classical music. Concerts will be given every night during the season.”
