“‘Ixion,’ the wickedest man in mythology, as personated by Miss Lydia Thompson at Wood’s Museum, is the burlesque sensation of the week. Standing room only is obtainable by those who come late, and large and delighted audiences are nightly the results of the clever acting of this accomplished artist and her dashing troupe.”

“We are glad to notice that the proprietors of Wood’s Museum have taken a step in the right direction, and we commend their example tp the managers of al [sic] other places of amusement in the city. Ticket speculators are no longer permitted to obstruct the sidewalk in front of the Museum and persecute visitors by thrusting tickets in their faces. The property owners along the block have joined with the Museum people in keeping this class of afflictiongs at a comfortable distance. Capt. Speight of the Metropolitan force, in carge of the precinct, is also entitled to credit for his action in the matter.”

“A matinée of ‘Ixion’ is to be given also to-day, and Miss Lydia Thompson and her entire troupe will appear. The curtain rises at 2 o’clock.

On the Wednesday matinée the rates of admission are reduced at Wood’s Museum, for the accommodation of familes.”

“Miss Lisa Weber, too, becomes more and more prominent by reason of her art. Nature has endowed her with seemingly endless resources of comical deviltry. She can be grave in an indescribably funny manner; and she is excellent at a comic song. But the singer of the troupe is Miss Markham, who gives melodious voice to almost perfect beauty.”
