“Mr. Ignatz Pollak, pupil of the celebrated Stockhausen, and an artist of unusual sentiment and tenderness, is about to leave our shores. He proposes to give a farewell concert prior to his departure. The entertainment will take place at Irving Hall on Friday (to-morrow) evening. Mr. Pollak will be assisted by distinguished artists, and will, we trust, be greeted by a large audience.”

“Mr. Ignatz Pollak gave a farewell concert last night at Irving Hall. Mr. Candidus, Mr. Alvers, Mr. Toulmin, Mr. Edward Hoffman, and several other artists (not including Madame Johannsen, who was advertised, but fell sick) took part in the melancholy rites, and the funeral was attended by a large and highly respectable representation of the general public. Some of Mr. Pollak’s German songs were excellently done. He has a sweet and sympathetic voice, and we shall miss him when he is gone. He has not gone yet, however, for he will sing again tomorrow [at Irving Hall].”
