Brief. “A sacred concert was given at St. Peter’s church, Barclay street, last evening. The church, which is quite a large edifice, was well filled, both in the body of the house and the galleries, there being probably 1,800 people in attendance. The singing was very fine indeed, especially the solos by Mrs. Easton and Miss Gomien and the duet by Messrs. Fritsche [sic] and Stand.”

“A concert was given last evening at St. Peter’s Church, Barclay-st., which was so largely attended by the members of the parish that no standing-room was left in the sacred edifice. The programme included the ‘Heavens are Telling,’ the grand chorus of the oratorio of the ‘Creation,’ the Hallelujah chorus from the ‘Messiah,’ and Mendelssohn’s 42d Psalm, entire, beside a number of solo pieces, by Miss Gomien, Mrs. Easton, and others.”
