At the Fifth Avenue Theatre Irma will sing to-night in ‘Barbe Bleue,’ and Tuesday night in ‘Perichole.’ On Wednesday the Irma-Aujac troupe will give a ‘Perichole’ matinée in Brooklyn. The reign of this band of operatic artists will also soon be over. It is stated that Mr. Augustine Daly, the dramatist, has engaged the Fifth Avenue Theatre for the fall season, to give a series of light dramatic entertainments. It would seem from all this that opera bouffe will soon be in this city completely a thing of the past. The semi-nude spectacular burlesque which is just now so flourishing could be much more easily spared.”
