“Fifth Avenue Theatre.—Mr. Daly has shown the most admirable activity in his management of his theatre. His programmes are varied, and he busies himself in taking down from dusty shelves the brave old plays this generation knows but little of, but that in their own day were famous: such, for instance, Hoadley’s ‘Wives as they were, Maids are they are,’ not done here for thirty years past, and now in rehearsal.”
Notes that the play Everybody’s friend will be performed Saturday night, which seems to have been substituted with another performance of Wives as they were.
Lengthy announcement with cast list; no mention of music.
Advertises Everbody’s friend for Saturday evening.
For Wives as they were, maids as they are, not Everybody’s friend. Two cards on one page.
