“On a recent occasion, at Niblo’s Garden, a performer unknown to use mad a ridiculous exhibition of herself in the little part of Oona. THE NAME OF Miss Clara Fischer, the young and talented vocalist, was set down in the bills, as that of the representative of this character. Miss Fischer had been cast in the part, but had given it up, at the request of the manager, and did not appear at all. Neglect to remove her name from the bill subjected her to the discredit of a very bad performance. These trifling errors sometimes do a great deal of harm.”
