“The second concert by this distinguished violinist was given at Steinway Hall last evening. Considering the many counter attractions and the very inclement state of the weather the hall was pretty well filled by an appreciative audience. Ole Bull himself was, of course, the attraction, and his wonderful rendition of the “Nightingale”—a beautiful selection for violin with orchestra—evoked a well merited encore, which was compiled with in “The Last Rose of Summer.” Ole Bull needs no commendation, his great powers as a violinist having long since aroused the admiration of all who have ever heard him. His two concerts at Steinway Hall were deservedly successful.”
