“The MENDELSSOHN Orchestral Union resumed their pleasant concerts at Irving Hall on Sunday. There were about sixty performers in the orchestra, thereby insuring to the instrumental numbers an unusual fullness of interpretation. A new and brilliant selection by CONRADE [sic] called ‘A Tour through Europe’ gave much satisfaction. It touches gaily on the music of all nations, and furnishes several capital solos. The vocalists were . . .  Several brilliant morceaux were played by Mr. HARRY SANDERSON, who was in capital condition, and the accompaniments were rendered by Mr. ARTHUR RITZMER and Mr. H. B. LESSERVE. The orchestral conductors were Mr. EDWARD MOLLENHAUER and Mr. H. B. DODWORTH. These concerts, which seem to widen the field of orchestral music, certainly deserve to be successful. They are cheap and good.”
