Announcement: New-York Daily Tribune, 16 March 1863.
“Concert for the Benefit of Mr. Frederick Mollenhauer.—This eminent artist, who has become blind, will give an elegant musical entertainment—a parlor concert—at the residence of Mr. J.N. Bolles, No. 67 East Twenty-sixth street, on Wednesday, the 18th instant, at 8 o’clock. We commend it to the notice of kind and admiring amateurs.”

Announcement: New-York Daily Tribune, 17 March 1863, 8.
Says the concert will be “to-night.”
COMMENT: The two NYTr announcements are the only sources of information about the date of the concert, but they are conflicting. The 03/16/63 announcement says the concert was to be held “Wednesday, the 18th instant.” The 03/17/63 announcement says it will be held “to-night.” Since the 03/16/63 announcement also gives the day of the week, I give it precedence and belive that the 03/17/63 is mistaken.

Review: New York Herald, 23 March 1863, 5.
“A parlor concert given for the benefit of Mr. Frederick Mollenhauer last week drew together a large audience. The performance upon the violin of Master Emil, aged seven years, a son of Mr. Mollenhauer, was truly remarkable in one so young. Mme. Stephani sang selections from favorite operas and ballads with taste and skill. She was much applauded. Mr. Mollenhauer executed some of his own compositions for the violin most successfully.”
COMMENT: “Master Emil” is Emil Gramm. He wasn’t Mollenhauer’s son.
