The two former appeared in a number of new sketches, songs and dances, and were received with well merited applause, and deservedly complimentary by numerous encores…. Miss Eva Brent sang some favorite ballads in a manner which gained for her repeated encores…. The company now at the Tammany is one of the best variety troupes ever gathered together in this city, and the performers are of a very excellent character. The management has wisely stopped all smoking in the auditorium, and the change last night proved a very pleasant one to all who were present.”
