Review: New York Post, 02 May 1870, 2.

“At a very short notice a grand concert was improvised at the picture gallery on Saturday evening, and by the kindness of several distinguished artists a very enjoyable entertainment was furnished. Miss Hattie Safford, the charming soprano, late of the Ole Bull troupe; Signor Randolfi, Signor Fossatti, Signor Mora, Mr. Despecker, Mr. Edward Hoffman and others took part in the music of the evening. Their valuable services were highly appreciated by the laides and gentlemen of the audience, as well as the committee in charge of this department. The room was well filled, and the receipts largely increased by this soirée musicale.”
